City of Cupertino Proclamation Celebrates Opening of PlaneTree Health Information Center
Cupertino Library Foundation Supports PlaneTree Health Information Center with Funding and Open House
The City of Cupertino bestowed a Proclamation on June 4, 2012 to the Cupertino Library Foundation honoring PlaneTree Health Information Center and welcoming the PlaneTree Health Information Center to the Cupertino Library.
The PlaneTree Health Information Center is a nonprofit organization that offers free, comprehensive, individualized health and medical information to the public.
Now in its twenty-fourth year of service, the Center recently moved to the Cupertino Library and is now a partnership between PlaneTree and Santa Clara County Library District.
PlaneTree librarians and expert volunteers help individuals, on a drop-in or appointment basis, five days per week, find reliable and relevant information to enable informed health and medical decision-making.
The Cupertino Library Foundation celebrated the PlaneTree Health Information Center grand opening on June 8th with an open house attended by members of the Cupertino community, Cupertino Library supporters, and the PlaneTree Health Information Center staff and volunteers.
The Cupertino Library Foundation showed support for the importance and relevance of the PlaneTree Health Information Center’s mission with a generous donation of $25,000 to purchase new furniture, fixtures, and resources for the new site at the Cupertino Library.
Part of the mission of the Cupertino Library Foundation includes encouraging lifelong learning and self-improvement, adopting healthy lifestyles, successfully managing medical conditions, and enabling savvy health care consumerism.
