Bob has been a Board member of the Cupertino Library Foundation since 2004 and focuses on chairing the Endowment Investment Sub-Committee and is coordinating Event sponsorship. He also chaired the 2009 Silicon Valley Reads Event.

Bob is a CFP, certified financial planner practitioner and operates a solo fee-only practice in Cupertino. He founded Armstrong Retirement Planning, LLC in 2003. ARP is a RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) with the States of California and Texas.

Bob is also very involved in mentoring new financial planners and in volunteering with several non-profits in Silicon Valley. Professionally, Bob held various management positions at Hewlett-Packard; Public Company; 10,001+ employees; HPQ; Information Technology and Services industry: 1979 – 2002

Bob started his HP career developing software, but spent most of his career managing global projects for both internal HP employee use as well as working with HP’s Global Fortune 1000 customer base. Although he was always U.S. based, Bob has extensive experience managing global projects and remote staff.
