2017 S^4 Super Summer Science Search™ Contest Winners Announced!

The 2017 S^4 Super Summer Science Search(tm) contest concluded with the award ceremony on August 20th. This year more than 220 middle school students signed up to join us on a journey of solving issues while applying STEAM subjects. Congratulations to the top three teams as well as the top 15 entries. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

The Awards Ceremony took place at the Cupertino Community Hall located at 10300 Torre Avenue. From noon to 1pm attendees had the opportunity to walk around and visit the top 15 contest entries. Starting at 1pm awards to the top 3 teams and presentations was made to the full audience. Following the award ceremonies, visitors had  the opportunity to visit the top 15 entries between 2 and 2:45p.

About the Contest

CUSD middle school students learn critical thinking around Common Core Standards using online Library databases. Eligible students compete individually or as a team to solve world problems and win prizes. Now in its fifth successful year, the Cupertino Library Foundation in conjunction with the Cupertino Library and the Cupertino Unified School District sponsors the contest.  The contest is a non-profit, teen-run science fair organized by the Cupertino Library Foundation Teen Advisory Council. Contest registration opens May 1, 2017 and ends June 1, 2017.  Deadline to submit entries is August 1st. Winners will be announced on August 20, 2017.
